We are writing to inform you that at the request of some leagues, the deadline to complete our Street Safety Survey has been extended to December 1, 2019. The results of this survey will be used to inform a report on Community League preferences for managing traffic safety that will be shared with Community Leagues, City Administration, and City Council. We will report back individual findings as well as city-wide findings by December 18.
The survey is comprehensive and covers a wide range of topics so that the EFCL can develop a better understanding of how community members experience their neighbourhoods. The survey takes between 15 and 20 minutes to complete. Find the survey here.
Edmontonians have been calling for a reduction in residential speed limits for over a decade. On May 14, 2019, City Council advanced discussions to reduce residential and collector speed limits within our communities. To help Community Leagues understand the impetus for these changes, the EFCL has developed the Neighbourhood Street Safety Handbook.
As the City of Edmonton endeavors to complete this work, we are asking Community Leagues to bring their local knowledge to the discussion. We want to know your thoughts on potential speed limit reductions and how improved traffic safety can improve neighbourhood liveability within your community.
You can share your thoughts with us by completing our survey! For more robust neighbourhood data, please share the survey widely. To make things simple, you can share our twitter or facebook post or simply copy and paste this link→ https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/EFCLtrafficsafety
