COVID19 Update

March 19, 2020

Hello Crestwood Community,

Creswtood Community League’s (CCL) top priority is to ensure our community is safe. Therefore, we have been closely monitoring the evolving COVID-19 situation. Today’s declared State of Emergency mandates that ALL COMMUNITY LEAGUE FACILITIES MUST BE CLOSED. This includes halls, rinks, playgrounds, sports courts/fields, and any other facility run by a Community League.

The following measures have now been implemented to support social distancing and adhere to State of Emergency protocols:

  • Hall Closure:
The CCL Hall will be closed until further notice. At the moment, we do not know how long this closure will last. During the hall closure, we are undergoing a thorough cleaning to ensure the safety of the facility when we reopen.
Regularly scheduled Classes have been suspended. For suspended programs, the League will reach out to participants to issue refunds. Due to volume, refunds may take some time to be processed. We ask for your patience as we try to issue them as quickly as possible. Private Hall Rentals have been cancelled. Individuals who have booked the hall will be contacted by the League to refund any advance rental payments made. No additional bookings will be accepted at this time.

  • Parkland Closure:
All skating rinks and playgrounds are closed.

  • Community Engagement and Support for Crestwood:
We continue to be so proud of our Crestwood Community. Several individuals have reached out to express their interest in supporting each other within the community during this trying time. For individuals who have self-isolated or are quarantined and require supports, please check out the CCL webpage in the next few days for a list of supports, contact information and other resources.

      • If you do not have access to the website you can call the Board President, Diana Steele, at (780) 918-4780 for more information. Please contact us if you are aware of someone who is vulnerable or has mobility issues. If you would like to be added to a volunteer communication list from the League, please email Diana at

  • Staying Connected:
The League is exploring options for safe ways to get out (or stay in) and stay connected while adhering to social distancing principles like ravine walks or online presentations and workshops. Check out the CCL webpage, Twitter, Instagram or our Facebook Page. Let us know if there is something you would like to do or share with the community during this time. If you have an idea for an online workshop or presentation or if you would like to be involved connect with us!

The League is following the information provided by various federal and provincial health agencies and all levels of government and is committed to implementing appropriate measures as new information emerges.

Please stay safe!
